It is indeed a proud moment for me to lead one of the prestigious universities of the country as Acting Vice Chancellor. Surely It is an honour that I will cherish and will do my best to make Indus University a name amongst the leading institution of higher learning. I feel profoundly indebted to Almighty Allah for the continued blessings. I am also thankful to honorable Chancellor for trusting me for this arduous responsibility.
Indus university was established as an institution of Higher Learning in 2006, it was chartered as Indus University by Govt of Sindh in 2012. The Indus University had a modest beginning with Department of Business Administration, Department of Fashion Design, Department of Electrical Engineering & Department of Science & Technology, offering courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the emerging areas in engineering, science & technology. Indus University enjoys enviable standing now and it has become pioneering institute for the aspiring young talent of the province of Sindh, especially the remote rural areas of the country, where Engineering & Technical education is a dream for them. Students from impoverished areas like Gilgit Baltistan have also benefited due to the generous financial assistance offered by the university since its inception.
I am very proud to say that the quality of our graduates is recognized by the employers in public and private sector, who offer jobs to our students even before the announcement of the results. Our alumni are contributing to their professions and have earned responsible positions in public & private sector nationally and internationally.
Indus University provides best learning environment to its students, faculty, and researchers. The university has state of the art laboratories for use by the students, faculty, and industry. Research and development, and innovation is a strategic priority for the university, as these are essential elements for the sustainable development and economic growth of the country. The university aims to strengthen its existing linkages with other academic institutions & other bodies and industry, and to develop new linkages. It is my utmost desire to see Indus University becoming a leading university in the country.
